Dr. Giao Vu is a Bay Area native, having grown up in the South Bay and later moving with his family to the Berkeley area. He earned his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering from UC San Diego as a Regents Scholar, and then went on to obtain his medical degree from Creighton University. It was there that he was first introduced to the specialty of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery through his interactions with ENT, plastic, and OMFS surgeons working in conjunction as part of the regional Craniofacial Team. Upon graduating from medical school, he opted to pursue a career in oral surgery, and went on to obtain his Degree in Dental Surgery from the University of Southern California. He returned home to Northern California to complete his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery from the University of the Pacific in San Francisco, and Highland Hospital in Oakland. It is here that he gained broad scope training, with a keen interest in facial trauma, orthognathic, dentoalveolar, pathology and reconstruction, cleft and implant surgery. He is excited to continue providing the highest level of professional, compassionate care to the East Bay community.
