Big News!

We're very proud to announce that Dr. Michael J. Doucet, D.D.S. new office has been awarded a three-year certificate of accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc's. (AAAHC) This is the highest level of recognition offered by the Chicago-based accrediting organization; It means that Dr. Doucet's office is in substantial compliance with the accreditation committee's standards and that the committee has no reservations about Dr. Doucet's commitment to continue providing high-quality care and services as reflected in the standards."

This three-year accreditation is an unreserved "vote of confidence" in Dr. Doucet's ability to continue carrying our the ambulatory health care program as overseen by the AAAHC -- a program that is of great benefit to our patients.

In order to achieve AAAHC accreditation, Dr. Doucet's practice underwent an extensive on-site survey of its facility and services. The survey team, composed of physicians and health care administrators, evaluated all aspects of patient care.

Not all ambulatory health care organizations seek accreditation and not all who undergo an on-site survey receive favorable decisions. At this time there are only about 20 Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery practices in the United States that have become accredited.

The AAAHC conducts its accreditation program on a national basis and has accredited more than 500 ambulatory health care organizations including single-and multi-specialty group practices, ambulatory and office-based surgery centers, college and university health services, health maintenance organizations and other managed care systems, dental group practices, community health centers, and occupational health centers.

by Roxanne Wiley

Dr. Doucet is on the move! On July 1, he will be in his new digs at the Alta Bates Building, 500 San Pablo Ave. in Albany.

Dr. Doucet is a board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon for people of all ages, specializing in diagnosis and medical and surgical treatment of diseases, injuries and defects of the mouth and facial region. This translates to anything from the pulling of unwanted teeth, to implanting wanted teeth; any oral surgery (pediatric included), and solving any problem in the mouth or jaw. as a matter of fact, yours truly has parted company with at least one tooth at Dr. Doucet's office. Although one does not like having to lose a tooth, if one has to, Dr. Doucet's office is the place to do so. Everyone was kind and gentle with this otherwise "fraidy" cat.

The new space will give the good doctor and his fine staff 1,000 square feet of additional space, a digital X-ray system, wheelchair access and ADA codes compliance, light airy and comfortable interiors, ambulatory operating chairs, emergency power backup, an emergency communications system, and an automated instrument cleaner.

"This modernization of our practice advances us technologically into the new millennium and most importantly it helps us improve the quality of care we deliver to our patients," says Dr. Doucet.

We know that Dr. Doucet and staff will flourish at the new location.
