 Michael J. Doucet, D.D.S. practices oral and maxillofacial surgery in Albany, California, which is just north of Berkeley, in the San Francisco Bay Area. Dr. Doucet's private practice, which began in 1987, is enhanced by his active involvement in local and national dental organizations, his commitment to continuing education, and his dedication to the community. We serve Berkeley, El Cerrito, Richmond, Piedmont & Oakland.
After receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Minnesota in 1978, Dr. Doucet began his active career in the United States Navy, first as a general dentist at the San Diego Naval Station, then as head of the Dental Department aboard the USS Dubuque LPD-8. Before being honorable discharged in 1982, He earned a Navy Achievement medal, as well as a certificate for completion of an Oral Surgery Fellowship.
Dr. Doucet has always strived to maintain a thorough understanding of his field. Early in his career, he completed an oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the Washington University School of Dental Medicine and then an OMS fellowship at St. Johns Medical Center, both in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Doucet is certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Doucet's committed involvement in local and national professional organizations demonstrates his leadership in the field of dentistry. He is a past president of the Berkeley Dental Society as well as a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS), the Northern California Society of OMS, the International Congress of Oral Implantology (ICOI), the Academy of Osseointegration, and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. He is also a staff member at Alta Bates Medical Center and serves on the Dental Subcommittee of Doctors Hospital in Pinole, California.
Dr. Doucet and his wife Patricia have two children, Jenee and Paul. Dr. Doucet is a second generation dental professional, but beyond his commitment to dentistry and to his family, he also enjoys running, hiking, camping, karate, skiing and fly fishing.
